Honour Rounds

As part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations, the Bentleigh Junior Football Club proudly introduced the BJFC Honor Rounds—a heartfelt tribute to the families and individuals who shaped our club over the past four decades.

Across the 2025 season, each home round at King George Reserve was named in honour of a different Family—recognising their lasting impact on our community.

The honourees were welcomed back to the club to:

  • Toss the coin

  • Take part in special photo opportunities

  • Meet current players and committee members

This initiative gave us a chance to reflect on the incredible legacy left by coaches, volunteers, committee members, and players—many of whom have been part of BJFC since its earliest days.

40th Anniversary Celebration

From our early days to today’s thriving club culture, this night was about honouring our past, celebrating the present, and looking ahead to the future. It was incredible to see so many generations of the BJFC family come together for this unforgettable milestone.

For 40 Years…

From humble beginnings in 1985 to a thriving community club today, the Bentleigh Junior Football Club has been home to thousands of young players, passionate volunteers, and lifelong supporters.

This video celebrates 40 years of footy, friendship, and community spirit. It’s a tribute to the people who built the club, those who carried it forward, and the next generation ready to wear the red and blue with pride.

Through the highs and lows, BJFC has remained a place where kids grow, families connect, and memories are made—on and off the field.

The Presidents

We were honoured to welcome Colin McDonald, Bentleigh Junior Football Club’s original President, to the clubrooms at King George Reserve on May 30, 2025.

Colin visited alongside his longtime friend and fellow former President, Alex Johnson.

It was a touching moment as Colin and Alex toured the rooms and shared memories from the club’s early days. We’re incredibly grateful for their legacy and the foundation they laid for the generations that followed.

The Players

For 40 years, the players of Bentleigh Junior Football Club have been the heartbeat of our club.

From their first Auskick drills to their final game in the red and blue, thousands of young players have run onto the field with courage, pride, and passion. Every mark, every tackle, every team huddle has helped shape not just great footballers—but great people.
